The feelings that one has varies from time to time depending on the situation, environment, and expectations among many other factors. For instance, in a case involving situation and expectations of a person, he/she may be unhappy after going through hardships such as failing an exam, losing a loved one, and any other thing of the kind which are negative happenings that one can expect and desire in their lives.
On the other hand, the same person may have a different feeling of happiness when faced with another circumstance. Similarly, the environment in which a person is in determines their feeling. For instance, a person in an as less conducive environment such as a jail may have a different feeling from that of another person who is in an entertainment room. However, Stets and Turner (115) maintain that not all feelings are affected by the already discussed factors, depending on the type of feeling in question.
