Practicum is important in counseling as individuals get to prove themselves in the field. The model I feel will work best for me during this period is group supervision. I am more comfortable with this model because I believe a group accomplishes more than an individual does.

Like MacKenzie (1990) says, being in a group enables counselors to support each other, share their experiences, which helps to normalize some situations, and helps counselors to learn from each other. Moreover, MacKenzie goes on to say, group supervision helps counselors to become more insightful as they listen to the opinions of not only their supervisors but also of their colleagues who may have something vital to say.
