In understanding how to maintain control and discipline in a class, knowledge on educational psychology is very important. Education psychology will be of great help to any teacher because it will help him or she understand the behavior of some of her students and how to deal with them.
As explained by Thorndike (1910), education psychology will help in telling every fact about students’ intellect and character. It will also explain why he or she behaves in a certain manner and what causes a change in the good students suddenly becoming the bad and rebellious ones. In the measures I chose to apply in discipline management for one of the classes, my knowledge on education psychology played a huge part. it is because of this knowledge that I was able to understand why the students were being rebellious during lessons and being undisciplined.
